Year in review 2024: new investments, solar parks and partnerships

The year 2024 was marked by our 15th anniversary, which we celebrated at our locations. We looked back on the developments and milestones of the past 15 years. And this year also had some exciting projects and promising partnerships in store for us:

A year full of milestones

We were able to enjoy several highlights in hep solar’s global project development. Firstly, the 9.8 MWp Perendale solar park was connected to the grid in the US state of North Carolina and has since supplied 1,440 households with clean electricity. Secondly, the sustainable public fund “HEP – Solar Green Energy Impact Fund 1” invested in the Japanese solar project Kite & Fox on the northern island of Hokkaido, among others, while the special AIF “HEP Solar Club Deal 1” enabled the financing of the Canadian solar project Alderson in the province of Alberta. And hep solar was also active again in West Africa this year. We were able to realize our second solar project for the Burkina Faso Institute of Technology (BIT) as part of our international commitment to humanitarian emergency aid. The project was carried out in close cooperation with the Stern Stewart Institute, which specializes in the initiation, financing, administration and implementation of projects in Africa. Stern Stewart took over the project organization on site and supported us in the construction of the solar plant.

Strong partnerships and regional successes

In Germany, we have set new course with Stadtwerke Stuttgart and Volllast GmbH to realize joint solar projects. At the open day in Tiefental in Eppingen, visitors were able to find out more about hep solar. At the joint initiative of the companies in the industrial park, guests were able to experience the technology up close in our photovoltaic experience world or charge their cell phones emission-free. In addition, we presented ourselves as an exhibitor at the EuroTier in Hanover for the first time in 2024 and presented our solar solutions for agriculture to visitors.

Another highlight this year was the installation of our brand “hep yolar” rooftop system on a municipal children’s home in Eppingen. As part of an adventure day, we were able to introduce the kindergarten children to the topic of solar energy in a playful way and in doing so, give the well-known children’s song “Dear, dear sun, come down a little” a whole new meaning.

Awards and pioneering concepts

In 2024, we received the ESG Transformation Award in the “Impact Investing” category and developed a biodiversity concept to promote nature and biodiversity. The latter is intended to show how companies can have a positive impact on nature and biodiversity.

We also used the partnership between hep solar and TSG Hoffenheim for pioneering projects in 2024. As part of the climate ticket, hep solar supports the Bundesliga club in promoting sustainable projects for climate and environmental protection. This year, the proceeds were donated to “ForTomorrow” – an organization that buys up and decommissions emission rights from the European CO₂ trade.

With these highlights behind us, we look to the future with confidence and look forward to achieving further milestones on our path to a sustainable energy future. We would like to thank all our partners, investors and employees for their support and commitment in 2024!
